Game Environment Artist & Unreal Designer
I am Aryan Khurana, a passionate Game Environment Artist deeply inspired by immersive virtual worlds. With a background in Unreal Engine design and interactive storytelling, I specialize in crafting environments that blend technical mastery with artistic storytelling. My workflow integrates blueprint scripting, custom shaders, and environmental design with a narrative focus. I’m constantly experimenting with interactive systems, visual scripting, and player-driven spaces to make each world more alive and meaningful.
Over the years, I’ve developed a strong foundation in game design principles through both academic learning and hands-on experimentation. I love finding creative ways to communicate ideas and emotions through environment art. My curiosity for storytelling and game systems often leads me to design unconventional spaces that evoke emotions or challenge expectations. I actively follow game development trends, but always aim to bring my own twist. When I’m not creating in Unreal, I’m likely sketching new world ideas or testing game mechanics.
This interactive Unreal Engine experience simulates a virtual museum, where players are guided by an NPC that explains various harmful drugs, their symptoms, and their long-term effects. The primary objective of the project is to spread awareness and keep youth informed in a captivating, non-preachy way. The NPC automation was developed entirely using self-made Blueprints, with reactive interaction zones and guided narration.
A visually stunning snowy jungle environment built entirely in Unreal Engine. The landscape features climbable mountains, dense pine forest trails, and collectible rewards placed at landmarks. A branching dialogue system introduces story elements and mission objectives as players explore. This project allowed me to explore terrain sculpting, atmospheric lighting, and spatial audio for environmental immersion.
A tight, tactical multiplayer PvP map designed with verticality, sightlines, and chokepoint balance in mind. The level was constructed entirely from scratch, including a custom-designed skybox made via 29a.ch to match the stylized lighting of the scene. This map includes narrow corridors, sniper sightlines, and alternative flanking paths to give players multiple strategic options. It showcases my skills in level layout, navigation mesh design, and player flow testing.
